From 1911 to 1926, the northwest corner of Ashland and Main is occupied by (i) a 1-story retail store and (ii) a 2-story apartment building. When Main St is widened in 1926, the buildings are demolished or moved.
In 1910, the Church of the Nazarene property is sold and the church building removed.

In 1912, Joseph James builds a 1-story retail building at 2820 Main. The 50-ft (along Main St) by 78-ft property consists of Lots 24 and 25 of Block D of the 1893 Santa Monica Tract. In 1926, for the widening of Main St, the buildings are demolished.
California Apts (2820 ½ Main St)
The 2-story brick apartment building is built in 1914. The 25-ft (along Main St) by 78-ft property consists of Lot 23 of Block D of the 1893 Santa Monica Tract. In 1926, for the widening of Main St, the apartment building is moved to 2804 Main St.
The lot remains vacant until 1947 when an automobile service station, a garage, and a beer bar are built.
