The slow but inexorable change on Ocean Park’s Lincoln continues. Below is some of what happened while we were away visiting with Merle, her Main Street building, and the old SMFD Station No. 2 behind it.
2323 Lincoln Blvd @ Cedar (yeah, it is on “the other side”)
Another former auto shop on Lincoln Blvd opened as a fitness studio. Sweat 60 is an independently owned training club specializing in group fitness classes, semi-private training and personal transformation. Kevin Atkinson opened Sweat 60 on Pico in Santa Monica in January 2018.
2410 Lincoln Blvd @ Kensington
Lightopia on Lincoln since 2019 is gone. Lightopia displayed designer lighting fixtures to Los Angeles interior designers and retail customers. Lightopia’s emphasis is educating clients on the features of LED lighting, particularly warm dim LED options that mimic incandescent light color.
2624 Lincoln Blvd @ Ocean Park
Jeff's Mercedes Auto Service opened in the former Westside Independent VW Repair shop that closed after the death of the owner. Jeff moved from Pico Blvd in West Los Angeles where they had been in business since 1989. Secret Tip: Chocolate lovers always love Louie’s chocolate bowl project.
2903 Lincoln Blvd @ Ashland (yeah, it is on “the other side”)
The wood framing for the 4-story apartment mixed-use project, which includes 47 apartments, ground-floor businesses and two-level subterranean parking, has topped out.
