In 1921, A.J. Seed1 and G.H. McGinley2 form Marine Furniture Co. In November 1921, they move to the Masonic Temple building at 164 Marine. In December 1921, Marine Furniture Co occupies the entire ground floor when the Kirkelie Company3 moves out.
In July 1927, Marine Furniture Co has a sale preparatory to moving to 2905 Main St.
In November 1927, Marine Furniture Co has a sale at its 2905 Main store - “on account of sickness in her family”.
A.J. Seed dies in January 1928.
Andrew John Seed (1879 – 1928). Born in IL, moves with his family to NB. Seed marries Hanna T Knapp Seed (1882 – 1961) in SD in 1911. Lives at 2635 6th St. From 1915 to 1919, Seed runs a second-hand furniture store at 2930 Main St.
George Henry McGinley (1886 - 1950). Electrical contractor -Live Wire Electric Co, Venice. Lives at 736 Raymond. Moves to San Pedro in 1927.
In November 1921, O.A. Kirkelie Company undertakers moves to 202 Main Street – between Marine & Rose. Founded by Ole A. Kirkelie (1867 - 1952) in 1904. Now run with his son-in-law Alton Joseph Bernard (1898 – 1960) and H.D. Peek. Kirkelie, Bernard & Peek Mortuary is acquired by Pierce Bros in 1949.
