Between 1907 and 1915, the Peasgood Brothers, J.T. Peasgood, J. I. Peasgood, and G. W. Peasgood build many buildings in Ocean Park.

Jane Beardwood Peasgood (1838 – 1913)
Jane Beardwood came from England with her father and several siblings in 1856. In 1859, Jane marries James Thomas Peasgood (1829 – 1868) in IL. Thomas Peasgood dies in 1868 (age 38). In 1869, Jane Peasgood and her four children move to Philadelphia where Jane’s brothers (Thomas Beardwood (1834 – 1882) and Matthew Beardwood (1830 – 1909)) have a cotton cloth finishing business (Girard Finishing Works). Her children work in the business.
In 1913 after settling affairs in Philadelphia, Jane comes to Santa Monica to be with her children (lives with Lucy at 144 Grand) but dies a month later.
James Thomas Peasgood (1860 – 1938)
Born in IL, his father Thomas Peasgood dies in 1868, and the family moves to Philadelphia, where his mother’s brothers have a cotton cloth finishing business. In 1881, James marries Jane Campbell “Jennie” Whiteside Peasgood (1860 – 1897) in PA. In 1901 marries Ellen Hannen (1860–1928) in PA. He is listed as a builder. Comes to Ocean Park in 1908. Home building contractor and councilman. From 1910 to 1920 lives at 2651 4th St. James becomes City of Santa Monica Building Inspector and Purchasing Agent. In 1930, James lives at 445 16th St. His son is Treasurer of Venice.

John Israel Peasgood (1862 – 1943)
Born in IL, his father Thomas Peasgood dies in 1868, and the family moves to Philadelphia, where his mother’s brothers have a cotton cloth finishing business. In 1896 marries Ida Elizabeth Hansell (1862 – 1942) in PA. Comes to Ocean Park in 1908 and lives at 130 Hill till he dies. In the 1920 census, his occupation is listed as "carpenter, moving picture industry." In 1896 marries Ida Elizabeth Hansell (1862 – 1942) in PA.
George William Peasgood (1865 – 1948)
Born in IL, his father Thomas Peasgood dies in 1868, and the family moves to Philadelphia, where his mother’s brothers have a cotton cloth finishing business. In 1891 marries Rosina Mildred Betzold (1872–1904) in NJ. Comes to Santa Monica (2339 Delaware Ave) 1903. In 1905, George marries Rosina’s sister, Mary Frances Betzold (1870–1958). In 1920, he is a dairy farmer in Madera, CA.

Lucy Peasgood Hughes (1866 – 1952)
Born in IL, her father Thomas Peasgood dies in 1868, and the family moves to Philadelphia, where her mother’s brothers have a cotton cloth finishing business. In 1895, Lucy marries George Davidson Hughes (1865 – 1933) in PA. Between 1910 and 1913 moves to Ocean Park (144 Grand).
