Mélisse’s Josiah Citrin is planning a casual restaurant based on one of his most popular dishes, an extra-crispy roast chicken at the as-yet-unnamed restaurant, opening before the end of the year.
Dave’s Doghouse (Citrin’s cousin David Cheren's hot dog chain) began the process to open but the project stalled. That permit was filed back in 2019 to convert the Santa Monica Electric Company building to Dave’s Doghouse with back patio with seating for 18 people. The interior had a service counter, kitchen and bathrooms, but no seating. The site does not include parking.
Notes:
Mélisse is one of Santa Monica Electric Company’s clients.
Don’t confuse this project with the wildly popular, completely separate Los Angeles chain Dave's Hot Chicken.
