A 3-unit residential condominium development was approved (Certificate of Appropriateness 20ENT-0019) at the landmarked property on the SEC of 2nd St and Mills.
The proposed project includes the relocation and rehabilitation of the existing landmark residence (Turn-of-the-Century Cottage) and the construction of a new two-unit, two-story residential building above a six space subterranean garage located behind the Landmark residence. The 1902 front building (Turn-of-the-Century Cottage) was landmarked in 2012. The non historic 1907 rear structure will be demolished.
The proposed project calls for moving of the front house closer towards 2nd Street (westward); the construction of a two-story addition with one-story hyphen connection attached onto the rear (east) of the historic cottage; and the reconfiguration of the driveway from the side street (Mills Street) to the front (2nd Street).
The buildings have been boarded-up since a contentious landmark hearing in 2012.
