Developers applying for Administrative Approval projects must hold a “community meeting” with neighbors near the project. Sanmon the Lincoln Center developer mis-judged the level of community interest in the January 11, 2022 meeting (video here) by (i) only allowing 100 participants (including the developer team); (ii) failing to courtesy notify affected neighborhood organizations FOSP and OPA; (iii) scheduling the meeting at the same time as a City Council meeting; and (iv) not providing timely on-site notification of the meeting. As a result, the City informed the developer that the January 11 meeting didn't meet the Administrative Approval requirements.
So there is a do over - this Thursday

Meeting Date: Thursday, February 17 2022
Meeting Time: 7:00 - 8:30 PM
While the developer led meeting promises to be lively, there should be no change in the result. The application is for a Tier 1 project (with State bonuses for low income housing). Tier 1 projects are “by right” and do not go to the Planning Commission / City Council and must be approved if they meet the building code.
